Landslide in China Kills Dozens, Injures Many

Rescue Workers Search for Survivors in Sub-Zero Temperatures
ZHENXIONG COUNTY, China (AP) — A landslide triggered by heavy rain killed at least eight people and injured at least 30 in a remote mountainous part of southwestern China on Wednesday, with many of the injured in serious condition.
Rescue workers in Zhenxiong county, where the landslide occurred, are working in sub-zero temperatures to search for survivors. So far, eight people have been confirmed dead, and dozens more are still missing.
The Chinese government has dispatched a team of experts to the area to help with the search and rescue effort. The death toll is expected to rise as the search continues.
