FBI Identifies Suspect in Shooting
Trump Wounded in Ear, Campaign Says
Former President Donald Trump has survived an apparent assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, his campaign said in a statement. The FBI is investigating the incident as an assassination attempt.
The shooting came at what already felt like a deeply consequential crossroads in a 2024 campaign that has had its fair share of them.
Trump, who emerged with a bloodied face, says he was shot in the ear, describing a bullet ripping through skin. The FBI has identified the gunman as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa.
